In his show Small dishes in balancethe food columnist revealed a simple and effective recipe: scrambled eggs in sandwich bread. It shows us once again that it’s possible to have fun without breaking the bank… Perfect for these back-to-school times!
What is special about this recipe? It allows you to eat only one meal 2 euros Per person. In addition, this cocotte egg can be eaten on its own totality thanks to its contour all in sandwich bread… Enough to please your whole little family. So don’t wait any longer!
The recipe for egg casserole in sandwich bread by Laurent Mariotte
Preparation : 10 minutes
Cooking : 10 minutes
For 4 people
- 4 extra fresh eggs
- 4 slices of bread
- 2 thin slices of ham on the leg
- 4 tbsp. coffee heavy cream
- 1 bunch of chives
- Grape seed oil
- Salt and pepper
First preheat the oven to 200°C.
Between sheets of parchment paper, flatten the bread slices with a rolling pin.
Oil ramekins and line them with baking paper.
Add the bread slices and bake for 5 minutes.
Then cut the ham into small pieces.
Put 1 teaspoon of cream in the bottom of the bread, pepper and sprinkle with diced ham.
Crack 1 egg into each molded sandwich bread.
Chop chives and sprinkle over the eggs.
Cover with a piece of baking paper.
🧑🍳 Advice from Laurent Mariotte: so that the yolk does not dry out, put baking paper on top before putting it in the oven.
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, the white should be set and the yolk creamy.
Free the cocotte eggs, place them on the plates. That’s it, it’s up to you!
