A Belgian pizza with Herve cheese, Liège syrup and hazelnuts

A pizza is always a meal that you taste with pleasure and that can be made in no time if you want to. If the traditional Italian recipes do not lack flavor, the Belgian versions are not uninteresting either. Because after all, what could be better than mixing the culinary specialties of two countries for an ultra-gourmet meal? We unveil a recipe inspired by the Liège region and its delicious products.

Ingredients for four people:

  • 1 pizza dough
  • 1 ball of mozzarella
  • 1 mild or spicy herve cheese
  • 1 bulb
  • Cork syrup
  • A few hazelnuts
  • black pepper


Start by draining the mozzarella and cutting it into slices. Do the same with the Herve cheese. Then peel the pear, core it and cut it into thin slices as well.

Crush some hazelnuts with a pestle. You can now roll out the pizza dough and place it on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Smear the latter with Liège syrup. Then add the slices of mozzarella, pear and Herve cheese. Finally, sprinkle with slices of hazelnuts, pepper and bake for 20 minutes at 200°.
